An Apple a Day Really is Good for You

Apples really are good for you! They are also in season! In addition to the antioxidants which they provide, apples are a great source of soluble fiber, which can help lower LDL cholesterol or bad cholesterol. Apples are low on the glycemic index which means they will not put you on the sugar roller coaster. Apples are also versatile. Sure you can eat them just as they, are but you can also juice them, bake them, puree them roast them and even grill them. You can heat apple juice for a warm comforting beverage or add to you favorite festive cocktail. No matter how you slice them, dice them, or juice them, apples are a great fit food.

Below is a great holiday apple recipe from our friends at menubook.com
